Published since 1956 by the geography department of Université Laval, Cahiers de géographie du Québec features articles on theoretical and applied research in the field of human geography. Open to all human geography themes, the journal also welcomes contributions by authors from other disciplines dealing with issues that concern territorial organization, e.g. urban studies, the organization of spaces and regional development. The publication places special emphasis on the practice of geography in Quebec and the rest of Canada.
